EIRSAT-1: Ireland’s First Satellite
Ireland’s first satellite, EIRSAT-1, was launched on December 1st 2023. This talk will provide an overview of the project, from the design of the satellite, through testing, qualification, launch and early operations.
Rachel Dunwoody is the Operations Manager of EIRSAT-1 and contributes to the GMOD and Operations teams. She recently completed her PhD with the UCD Space Science group focusing on the qualification and characterisation of GMOD in EIRSAT-1. Rachel also completed and a Masters in the UCD Dynamics and Control Systems group, where she worked on the ADCS (Attitude Determination and Control System) for EIRSAT-1.
