Anthony Lynch is a self taught award winning photographer from Dublin with a passion for night sky photography. He loves to travel for photos and does a lot of outreach and workshops to teach others how to get shots of the sky at night. All his pictures are taken without the use of a telescope. He uses Canon cameras and lenses and a star tracker. He shoots the sun, moon and stars as well as comets, eclipses, star trails, milkyway and aurora and anything else in the sky.

This exhibition includes night sky shots from Ireland, Tenerife, La Palma, Texas, Iceland and Norway, where he has spent a lot of time planning shots and getting to locations to always be in the right place at the right time of year. Anthony also won the coveted first prize in the “Out of this World – Planetary” category for the 2024 Reach for the Stars national astrophotography competition for the above image entitled “Bray Head Moonrise”

Anthony’s exhibition of photographs will be on display at Cabra Library from Monday 3rd March until Friday 28th March.
